We are searching for an organized, detail-oriented, & highly motivated Tax Associate to join our CPA team in downtown Chicago, Orland Park, or Elgin IL (HQ).

Position Summary:

The Tax Associate provides tax services to PKFMueller clients by preparing tax returns, related schedules and related reports for local, state, and federal government returns.

Tax Associate Responsibilities:

  • Provides detailed federal and state income tax support
  • Schedules and prepares tax returns including multi-state
  • Maintains tax files, and tax document retention
  • Provides assistance to Tax Managers with tax planning and research
  • Communicates with other tax professionals and clients effectively
  • Ability to retain a detailed knowledge regarding preparation and review of complicated tax provisions
  • Fulfills continuing education requirements to maintain licensure
  • Ability to receive and accomplish other responsibilities, as assigned
  • Ability to demonstrate enthusiastic & cooperative partnership spirit

Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification with active CPA standing.
  • MST (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
  • 0-3 years' Public Accounting practice experience with large local, regional, or national public accounting firms.
  • Experience in managing engagement budgets, expenses, & performance management.
  • Ability to build rapport with firms partners & management.
  • Must possess elite leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate; resolve conflicts, & effectively coach employees, managers, & executives.
  • Experience and ability to function using a tax software such as ProSystems, CCH, RIA and/or Engagement Manager is essential.
  • Strong personal identification with firm values and intrinsic values in our industry.
  • Valid Drivers License
