A Tax Manager leads, manages, and reviews multiple tax engagements to ensure projects meet standards for quality, budget, and relevant deadlines. This role contributes to the professional and technical development of the staff through on-the-job interaction and leading in-house training. Managers also help to support business development activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in a public accounting or professional services firm environment is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and Regulations is required.
  • Ability to deal effectively with interpersonal relationships.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Must be computer proficient with respect to Microsoft Office Suite of products or similar software applications.
  • Must be highly organized and capable of performing multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking skill capabilities are essential.
  • Be able to reach a client’s location/P&N office in a timely manner and to be on site at client and/or P&N offices to perform job responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts and supervises field work.
  • Supervises seniors, staff, and interns, and assists in their technical and professional training & development.
  • Completes all financial statements, tax returns and special service engagements.
  • Reviews reports, statements and returns upon completion.
  • Reviews research of tax issues as appropriate; formulates resolution of issues identified through the research process.
  • Informs engagement Director of the status of the engagement and other pertinent aspects of the engagement.
  • Maintains client contact and develops relationships.
  • Plans engagements to achieve quality, budget, and financial goals.
  • Recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to new or existing clients and supports business development activities.
