Spherion in The Woodlands is currently recruiting a Tax Manager for a local company. This position will have some remote work flexibility for the right candidate. This firm operates in a fun, family-friendly, and flexible work environment.
As a Tax Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for tax planning and consulting work with a wide variety of clients, as well as tax preparation and review. You will develop relationships with clients, staff, and management while working together on tax strategies to benefit clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Tax Associates, ensuring their development and success.
- Manage firm's tax workflow and monitor staff workload to ensure deliverables are timely delivered.
- Prepare, review, and advise clients on tax returns.
- Develop trainings to ensure the technical and professional development of staff.
- Thoroughly review tax returns and other documentation, to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities.
- Business development activities
- Develop SOPs to increase firm efficiency
Minimum Requirements
- B.S. in Accounting
- CPA License
- 5+ years of public accounting with tax emphasis
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
- Proficient in Excel and Adobe
- Strong communication skills (Verbal & Written)
- Enjoy working with a team
- Problem solver, able to overcome problems and bring solutions
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment
Master's degree in tax accounting preferred, as well as previous management experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
