WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a part of the division’s Coastal and East Texas- Houston team, our Team Leader will play a key role in achieving TCEQ’s mission. You would use your skills and experience to:
- Supervise staff in accomplishing Waste Program objectives for the Houston Regional Office.
- Plan and coordinate team activities; review and approve reports.
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor the progress of program work plan elements.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring team members; develop staff and complete performance management functions.
- Advise Section Manager of work plans, resource status, and team issues.
- Provide outreach and assistance concerning policy and issues to the public, regulated community, media, and other government entities.
- Provide program input for the development of policies, procedures, and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.
OR
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience conducting Industrial and Hazardous Waste (IHW), Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), or Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) investigations.
- Experience planning and/or coordinating team activities or projects.
- Experience evaluating and/or editing technical or environmental reports.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Program Supervisor VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Program Supervisor VI series.
