LearnWell is currently looking for a motivating and creative teacher to educate students who are being hospitalized in Dorchester, MA. In this position you will work with adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 8 to 12 students; in a small group setting
- Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
Position entails a 20 hour a week commitment, 8:00am - 12:00pm Monday through Friday. Position also includes a $500 sign on bonus! $250.00 bonus after teacher's first day and then remaining $250.00 after 90 days of employment. Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
- MA State Teaching Certification or MA Emergency Teaching Certification
- Comfortable working with students aged 13-18 years old
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to students needs
