Position Overview

The Team Lead- 2nd shift, ( 3pm-1am, Monday-Thursday) is responsible to provide tactical leadership to assigned team in the fabrication /manufacture of various products in accordance with product specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Train and cross train the area in accordance to work instructions/standard operating procedures and customer requirements.
• Assure that all safety requirements (including training and PPE) are being met
• May either act as the trainer for the area or identifies and ensures training of new hires is conducted in a satisfactory and responsible way
• Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts making recommendations as necessary
• May conduct meetings (start-up)
• Will be responsible for meeting production numbers and quality requirements for the group; plans the daily activities. Monitors the performance of shop floor employees.
• Will/may inspect work orders for proper completion and assure proper parts and sign-offs are being met
• Promote a positive team environment; drives inclusion
• Acts as the first line of escalation for employee questions and concerns
• Communicates management directives including policies; provides clarity of policies as necessary
• May / will give input regarding production, quality, and attitude of employees in area of responsibility while maintaining confidentiality
• Audits processes
• Consistently demonstrate and promote MMC Core Values
• May monitor and update timecards in ADP.

Education & Experience

• Preferred candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and prior experience in leadership role. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings, or demonstrated aptitude
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions
• Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems, make decisions, and direct action
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork and engineering documentation
• Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills, including legible handwriting in English
• Capacity to effectively and professionally adapt to changing work priorities
• Ability to work well with all employees and earn mutual respect
• Work with others as part of a high performance team
• Accept and apply on the job training to advance your skill level
• Remain positive in challenging workplace situations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, and Word
