Summary of Responsibilities

Position involves the management of people in a production environment and all of the related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This person is also responsible for the quality of the product being produced within a team environment. The Team Lead is expected to lead training of the team members, ensure standard work is being followed by all team members, and ensure production rates are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality product delivered by team members to internal & external customer
  • Lead training of all new team members, and support ongoing training for team members
  • Ensure operators follow standard work
  • Communicate with supervisors, management and other support departments for any downtime, scrap and or process related issues.
  • Ensure production targets are met by all team members
  • Ensure prestart up shifts are completed as required
  • Perform trouble shooting of equipment, preform tool changes as needed
  • Work with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve scrap and down time issues
  • Perform boundary sample tests if needed
  • Ensure 5 S is maintained in work areas

· Ensure all quality checks are completed in a timely manner per the requirements

· Communicate with support teams and escalate when necessary to provide a safe working area, quality part, that meets or exceeds production rates

  • Provide material handling & machine operator support
  • Prepare and keep track of counts
  • Ensure all parts are properly label and tagged
  • Assist Quality Engineers with MRB, other samples and projects
  • Able to travel to customers when required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading and training others in a production environment
  • Ability to understand written instructions and communicate effectively
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able and willing to stand and walk throughout shift
  • On-site attendance is essential function of this position
  • Must be able to understand written instructions

Education and Experience Required
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred

· Prefer some college or training in a technical field such as skilled trades

· Prefer two to five years automotive experience

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

· Ability to perform and understand shop math

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently

· Ability to lead set up activity as required
Work Environment
· Includes office and manufacturing plant, but most work functions are in the plant

· Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees of all departments, management, customers and suppliers

· Provide support for three shifts and weekend production schedule

· Flexible hours and able to work additional hours as required

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
