Huxdotter Coffee has been a Snoqualmie Valley staple since 1990, voted Best Coffee Shop and Best Place to Work year after year. Since completely rebuilding our original location in 2019, we have become one of the busiest coffee shops in the Pacific Northwest. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding beverages and a unique customer experience where everyone leaves with a smile. We are currently looking to fill either part-time or full-time team members for our back of house position.

Experience

For this position, candidates with some form of retail, food service, or hospitality experience are preferred but candidates without experience or minimal amounts are still encouraged to apply and send in a cover letter. Applicants must be able to commit to working 6 months or more to be considered for this job - we are not hiring for short-term or seasonal positions at this time.

Availability

Candidates must be available weekday mornings from 7am - 3pm most days. Weekend availability is required.

Job Duties & Skills

• Prepare breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, grab and go items, and other food items both ahead of time and to-order
• Deliver and run food items to counter quickly and efficiently or to tables as needed
• Heat pastries and food items in a busy and fast paced environment
• Run food from back of house to customers tables efficiently and with professionalism
• Assist the front of house with stocking and cleaning during busy rushes
• Stock and keep the cafe clean, bus dishes, dishwashing, etc
• Maintain an upbeat and friendly attitude while interacting with customers as needed and other staff

• Be a team player and be able to take direction and feedback from other staff and management
• Be able to work independently and stay busy as needed
• Keep a clean and sanitary workspace, practice proper food safety
• Perform a variety of different tasks within the store as assigned by a shift-lead or manager
• Be a self-starter who can contribute to a productive work environment through self guidance and keeping busy
• Ability to work well in a faced-paced environment and under pressure
• Willingness to learn and grown through ongoing education
• Open availability including weekends
• Reliable transportation to work, including winters
• Must be at least 16 years old

* This position is great for candidates interested in working at our coffee shop who don't yet have coffee experience as we often promote from this position. Team members perform many jobs and responsibilities such as runners, bussers, prep cooks, etc and motivated candidates are often promoted to barista in training.
