Position Summary

This position is responsible for working directly with external customers and Lightning’s internal departments. The person in this role will provide technical expertise to customers, manage the overall vehicle delivery schedule, design training programs for dealerships, fleet managers, and operators as well as collect and respond to customer feedback. This position does require travel, up to 25%.

We are hiring for 2 additional positions as our team continues to grow! Salary offers are determined by reviewing several factors such as directly related experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with external customer and internal Lightning departments
  • Provide technical expertise to assist with Business Development and Engineering objectives
  • Lead external projects from bid and proposal to vehicle delivery
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to create schedules, track progress, and manage overall vehicle delivery schedules
  • Evaluate and benchmark the Commercial Electric Vehicle marketplace
  • Collect and respond to customer feedback
  • Provide program status updates to Lightning eMotors leadership
  • Design and execute Dealership, Fleet Manager, and Operator training programs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Time management: Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, remain organized, and focused on work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Safety focused: You should keep safety in the forefront of your mind, demonstrating safe work practices and complying with safety procedures.

What we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field of study; or equivalent work experience in a directly related role
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role such as customer service, service writer, or related role
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as well as safe driving record
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles up to 26,000 lbs GVWR
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Travel up to 25%

What we prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • 3+ years of experience in a directly related role
  • Experience in commercial vehicle or general automotive industries, EV industry is highly desired
  • Knowledge of Electric and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle theory
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in project management of complex and inter-related systems
  • Knowledge of bid and proposal processes

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position requires work in office areas and manufacturing settings.

  • Working Environment
    • This position involves active participation in Trade Shows, visits to customer sites, demonstration and operation of LeM vehicles, and routine office work.
    • Conduct training sessions outdoors in a variety of locations and climates
    • Travel within and out-of-state will be required up to 25%
  • Physical Requirements
    • Have ability to lift, move and carry items in excess of 40 pounds (occasionally) and up to 10 pounds (frequently).
    • Operate Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicles
    • Have ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop/bend, lift, squat, push, pull, reach overhead, reach away from body, and perform repetitive motion
