Job description
Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manger will research, evaluate, and document technical accounting and external reporting implications of non-standard transactions as well as the implications of the new US GAAP pronouncements. This position will prepare quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-k reports
Essential Functions:
- Assist in preparation of SEC filings (quarterly 10-Q and annual 10K reports)
- Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting and external reporting implications of complex and non-standard transactions, as well as general corporate accounting matters
- Monitor and perform research relative to accounting and financial reporting rules and regulations of the FASB and other regulatory agencies
- Maintain, update, and evaluate new accounting policies
- Assist in reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Interact with the Company's external and internal auditors on a regular basis in regards to the audit of financial statements and other audits as required
- Provides technical accounting support to other internal departments (analysis and recommendations)
- Ensure compliance with key internal controls
- Provide training and education to stakeholders within the company
- Lead or participate in special projects as necessary
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 4+ years of relevant experience, either in public accounting or publicly traded corporate environment
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP financial statement reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and with various levels of the Company
Preferred requirements
- Significant experience in working with technical accounting issues
- Airline industry experience or knowledge
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
