Perficient is currently seeking an intelligent, analytical, energetic, passionate individual to join our team as a Lead Business Analyst. This role will be engaged in defining features, defining user stories, and development of functional and non-functional requirements for all tiers of the system based on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka (event messaging), various databases, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) technologies. The ideal candidate will possess the ability and passion to work closely with both onsite and remote teams, and vendors, to deliver on time, high quality functionality.

The project is migrating a set of monolithic API’s to microservices enabling processing of transaction in private and public clouds. As a contributor to the team, you will work on taking the existing design and translating them into functional requirements that will allow the development team to recreate the functionality in the microservice architecture. Candidate MUST be based in the St. Louis metro area and be able to be onsite a minimum of 2 days a week in O’Fallon, MO.

Job Overview:
As Lead Business Analyst, you are responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog. This is an instrumental role in driving day to day development of microservices that drive millions of transactions per day. You will have a key role working with cross-functional teams of designers, software engineers, QA engineers, and analysts to recreate the existing capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand and interpret technical architecture diagrams, technical design diagrams, flow diagrams in order to translate into features and user stories
  • Streamlining the execution of team priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features/ components for the team.
  • Work with stakeholders to create and organize Product and Epic backlogs.
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Lead all squad ceremonies and PI Planning, including planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and (leading) grooming
  • Assuring a level of quality has been achieved by validating that the Story meets acceptance criteria and has met acceptance tests. Approves stories as complete.
  • Responsible to update product management on Story status to align on delivery expectations
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
Qualifications:
  • Must have previous experience documenting technical projects.
  • Ability to understand various tech stacks and its impact to the product development.
  • Highly detail oriented, and well organized
  • Must have previous experience working with multiple development teams.
  • Ability to effectively work on teams within a highly collaborative environment
  • 5+ years of professional business analysis/systems analysis experience.
  • Previous working experience or understanding about APIs and microservices
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical and people skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and an ability to execute against aggressive timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
  • Previous experience in agile product development preferred
  • Familiarity with agile processes, such as scrum, Kanban, and/or the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Preferred skills and education:
  • Degree in Computer Science (IS or CS) or Engineering
  • Experience working in the consulting industry
  • Understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications
