Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We've partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.

We're seeking a Technical Writer to create e-learning courses, product user manuals, service manuals & technical training documentation. You will work with engineering and operations teams to gain a working understanding of the overall product functionality. This information needs to be distilled into training materials, assembly instructions, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

• Utilize engineering data (specifications, CAD models, bills of material and engineering drawings, etc.) to create various technical documents.
• Draft, revise, publish, and maintain product documentation, including e-learning courses, training materials, assembly instructions, maintenance procedures, etc.
• Proactively solicit information from subject matter experts.
• Work closely with the team lead to manage schedules for delivering product documentation.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• 5 to 10 years of experience in technical writing, preferably for electro-mechanical products.
• Some technical understanding of how electro-mechanical products operate.
• An ability to convey highly technical concepts in simple terms, in many cases such that the content can be understood by non-technical readers.
• Experience creating and editing technical customer-facing documents, including user manuals, assembly instructions, service manuals and technical sales literature.
• Must be proficient with commonly used authoring tools such as Madcap® Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.
• Experience with learning & development programs, training courses and using learning management systems efficiently.
• Need to have previous experience in handling CAD models, 3D concepts, exploded views, analyzing engineering drawings and review bills of material, etc.
• Experience using CAD tools to extract images, ability to manipulate models and isolate subassemblies to enrich documentation.
• Web development exposure.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, English, technical communication, writing, or related field.
