Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Writing
    • Ensures that technical information from engineering, customer service, training, and manufacturing is analyzed, documented, and translated into Technical Publications.
    • Creates and documents safety, service, repair and replacement, and maintenance procedures for repairing and maintaining ESG products through Service Manuals for use by technicians.
    • Creates and documents safety, operation, and routine maintenance procedures for ESG products through Operator Manuals for use by product operators.
    • Creates and documents diagnostic procedures for use by technicians and internal/external customers of ESG products as Diagnostic Manuals.
    • Creates and documents service, repair, and maintenance procedures as Service Bulletins, Tech Tips, and Information Bulletins for use by ESG dealers and end user customers.
    • Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, and concise as possible.
    • Ensures technical documentation is easy to understand for the intended readership.
  • Technical Training
    • Works with training department to provide technical information necessary to prepare service training programs.
  • Electronic Parts Catalog
    • Assists with the creation of parts manuals for the Electronic Parts Catalog, as necessary.
  • Other:
    • Participates in a minimum of 16 hours of self development training per year.
    • Responsible for decisions to create technical information in compliance with warranty cost, TREAD act requirements, NHTSA administration and exposure.
  • Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a writing-related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Other education in equipment service, engineering, or maintenance related fields will be considered
  • A minimum of five years of full-time technical writing experience, preferably in a mechanical or technological environment focused on end-user documentation.
  • Excellent product technical skills and ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • High degree of detail orientation required and ability to handle multiple priorities under time constrains to complete work and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experienced in daily use with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Extensive experience in FrameMaker will be considered in lieu of InDesign experience
  • Ability to operate various office equipment including but not limited to computers, projectors, video and digital cameras.
