The Regulatory Technician I, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Drilling and Completions team at the company’s Midland, TX, office reporting to the Reclamation Superintendent, Sr.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
  • Prepares correspondence, documents, and regulatory forms for various jurisdiction agencies to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and submit P&A procedure documents to State and Federal agencies
  • Obtain and submit all approved procedures from State & Federal agencies
  • Interface with company personnel, consultants and agency representatives to ensure timely processing of the required documents so that company objectives and agency requirements are met
  • Coordinate with company engineering, geology, and operations throughout the life of a well
  • Work with Land to request land ownership for P&A candidates.
  • Gather well research from various sources for procedure writing purposes
  • Assist in maintaining P&A scheduling spreadsheets
  • Self-motivated to continuously check stages of wells in the P&A system
  • Multitask through P&A processes
  • Be able to set up jobs in Wellview
  • Be able to navigate through the AFE process and AFE system
  • Be able to differentiate between low priority & high priority tasks Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate degree preferred
  • 5+ years oil and gas experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of regulatory background experience required (preferably with W3A’s, W3’s and NM agency P&A submissions)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to work well, and communicate information within an integrated multi-disciplinary team(written and oral) Competencies
