PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technology Infrastructure, (structured cabling), and security systems designers act as project managers for technology projects. Designers will meet with clients to develop requirements based on customer input and needs in the areas of structured cabling, communications systems, access control, intrusion detection and surveillance Designers will then research equipment, create estimates, create schedules, and provide milestones and status reports. Designers will then design, specify, plan and manage the integration of the technology systems based on those client’s needs.
- Lead technology design projects with architectural project team and direct client contact to design, specify, plan and integrate security systems for corporate, scientific, and educational clients
- Define and develop system requirements based on customer input and need, research solutions, create estimates and schedules, provide milestones and status reports
- Project manage the engagement, coordinate with the design team and/or construction staff to lead related portions of construction planning
- Assess requirements for all aspects of the technology and security systems and solutions
- Design and layout systems, create drawings, Revit schedules, and wiring plans for installation
- Specify equipment and develop project budget estimates
- Manage production team resources and scheduling
- Conduct construction administration activities including project close-out
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, related field
- BICSI RCDD and/or ESS is desirable
- Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, budgeting, and engineering of technology and security systems, including structured cabling, access control, intrusion detection and surveillance, and video storage/management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with fluency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and cloud tools. Strong typing and computer skills are required.
- The preferred candidate will have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
- Candidate must have the ability to create and modify technical drawings and specifications
- Customer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
