Under the direction of the VP of Youth Development and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, Teen Initiatives Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing multi-location programming for Y Achievers and Level Up Weekday and Weekend. The HSI Manager will facilitate the teen experience/programs at the Keith YMCA. The Teen Initiatives Manager will provide support with data collection specific to the teen experience at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a robust high school initiatives model based on the teen experience foundations of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
  • Meet all program enrollment and data management goals, and determines and tracks the outcomes needed to ensure impact on personal development and academic success.
  • Design, organize and lead all calendars, schedules, special events, celebrations and service projects for Y Achievers and Level Up.
  • Design, organize and lead all calendars, schedules, special events, celebrations and service projects for teen programming at the Keith YMCA
  • Develop, organize and lead staff development opportunities for teen program staff and other branch partners.
  • Design, organize and lead all student experience efforts including but not limited to student recruitment, training, communication, progress monitoring, college tours, internships, and work force development for Y Achievers, Level Up and all teen opportunities at the Keith YMCA.
  • Serve as a resource for other teen directors and coordinators.
  • Work with the business line leaders to support the parent and family engagement model as appropriate in all areas of the YMCA experience.
  • Work with the Volunteer Team to secure volunteers to support all high school volunteer experiences
  • Assist in the creation of program materials, social media and website content.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data specific to teens in membership, program attendance, social emotional learning, workforce development and personal growth.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte workforce development strategy for teens.
  • Supports the use of various platforms used in the teen space.
  • Attend all required YMCA training related to employment.
  • Represent the YMCA and maintains appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses
  • Assist the VP of Youth Development and the Executive Director of the Keith YMCA in all other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with teens.
  • Minimum of three years of program management experience
  • Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Understanding of the YMCA, its mission, goals and objectives and how these are essential to the operation of programs
  • Possess a relentless commitment to children with a high sense of urgency to impact their lives in a significant way
  • Evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity and leadership capabilities
  • Must be attentive to detail, able to work under pressure of accuracy and deadlines, take initiative to develop efficient and effective systems and controls
  • Capacity to manage systems necessary for data reports and tracking at a high level
  • Must have excellent oral, written communication, report development and presentation skills
  • Willingness to work within an inclusive environment so that each student has the opportunity to excel as the unique person they are.
  • Ability to work independently at a high level, using discretion and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead and work closely with school site coordinators, YMCA branch teams and volunteers
  • Ability to adapt to change and course correct as new information emerges
  • Successfully complete training and certifications required by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte Quality Standards within the allotted timeframe

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Available during experience and program hours inclusive of week days and nights as well as weekend day and nights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.48 - $21.85 per hour
