The FIU Foundation Campaign Planning and Communications’ Writing & Editorial Services team is seeking an experienced Writer/Researcher/Proofreader. Duties include:

  • Work part time supporting editors by conducting research and outlining, writing, and proofreading various fundraising communications, including proposals, reports, proposals, videos, correspondence, news stories, speeches and talking points, presentations, and press releases.
  • The editorial team supports university leadership and development professionals in colleges and units across the university, providing team members with exposure to a wide range initiatives, programs, and disciplines.

Desired Qualifications

  • Must be an excellent writer.
  • Must have proofreading experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to identify errors, including typographical, grammatical, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prefer familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook.
  • Prefer basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign.

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma with four (4) years of experience or two (2) years of post-secondary education with one (1) year of experience.

Work Schedule


M-F 9am-5pm / 20 hours per week
