The Terminal Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Auto unloading facility including staffing, administrative duties, auditing, net profit, property management., equipment inspections, etc. They address customer and company concerns, responsible for assigning duties to employees and members of management, and ensuring railcars are unloaded every day. This person also interacts and supports customer and build relationships, oversee profit and cost control, and ensure the safety, quality, and productivity measures. They also oversee and ensure the snow removal team and process.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and manage both office and yard management and personnel
  • Responsible for overall quality, safety and production for facility.
  • Provide support to Assistant manager.
  • Ensures all corporate and customer reports and billing are completed
  • Effectively communicates with customer and outside contractors
  • Supervises 1-10 employees
  • Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly audits and inspections are completed timely.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In times of need, other duties may need to be performed in any aspect of the terminal to ensure it runs productively. (example: vegetation control, crack fill, trash pick-up, facilty/office cleanliness, painting, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent organizational & communication skills. Able to take instructions and follow them.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task, delegate responsibilities, train, and assist on the ground.
  • Ability to plan/organize and problem solve.
  • Ability to stay proactive with staff changes and hiring.
  • Positive and professional behavior at all times.
  • Ability to be dependable during staff shortages.
  • Ability to be proactive in damage and injury prevention.

REQUIRED

  • Computer skills helpful. (including Microsoft Office, word, excel)
  • Previous management/supervisor experience a plus.
  • Ability to pass eRailSafe background check (post offer, pre-employment) (Company purchase)
  • High school education a plus but not needed.
  • Onsite training will be provided throughout the entire operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Lift, walk, climb, squat, bending, etc. all required for the position.
