Job Description
Responsibilities
The Test Technician performs testing and repairs of development and production products. Duties include:
- Troubleshooting and repair of production units or products submitted by customers
- Electrical or environmental tests - evaluation, set-up and performance
- Test data/results reporting
- Test fixtures for Production and Engineering: assembly, troubleshooting and repair
Testing and repairs will be performed in accordance with written procedures and industry specifications.
Formal Test Reports will be generated to support company and customer requirements.
No heavy lifting, travel or overtime will be required. No exposure to chemicals or hazardous materials.
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma; Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering will be preferred.
Candidates must be able to work independently and interface with individuals at multiple levels at the company. Problem solving and communication skills are required. Candidates must be able to interpret and execute written specifications, as well as reading schematics and pcb design images. Experience working in the instrumentation/electronics industry is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a test lab or production environment with exposure to a number of the following areas:
- Electrical/Electronic circuits
- Power supply lab equipment
- Servo and/or stepper motors
- Resolvers/Encoders/Transformers Instrumentation
- Multimeters, oscilloscopes, clamp amp meters,
- DC Power supply
- Basic electrician’s tools and safety devices
Desired Skills:
- Interpretation of electronic circuits and reading schematics
- PCB techniques - soldering, de-soldering, surface mount and thru-hole components
- Microsoft Office Excel/Word
