We are looking for positive, upbeat individuals who enjoy working with children within their own communities. Do you want to be supported in the work that you do? Our ideal homes would enjoy the challenge of building up their community by providing a live-in, encouraging, and reliable atmosphere in their home for one child (ages 7-11 for a 6-9-month term). No experience is required, we will provide all training and education needed, plus the support and availability of the team 24/7!

Duties and Responsibilities as a Therapeutic Parent

· Be part of a professional team

· Provide safety and stability for a child in your home

· Provide the child with daily essentials and home living environment for 6-9 months

· Support the child and treatment process

· Demonstrate ability to supervise, and model constructive behaviors

· Monitor needed medical care

· Support the child's educational needs/goals

· Support the child's therapeutic process

Qualifications and Skills for a Therapeutic Parent

Educational / Licensing Requirements

· Licensing and training will be provided by TFCO-Northpointe.

Basic Qualifications

· Flexible schedule to provide youth supervision

· Reliable transportation

· Provide a private bedroom for one TFCO child (age 7-11)

· Live in Michigan within (or near) 40 minutes of Dickinson, Iron, or Menominee County

· No current foster care children

· Be at least 18 years of age

· Pass a background check
