What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Utilize SPC, statistical methods, and data analysis to improve quality and yield, lower costs, and increase manufacturing uptime.
  • Troubleshooting problems that occur during the optical coating manufacturing process.
  • Document standard operating procedures, training guidelines, and “what if” scenarios.
  • Assist in new product development and maximize manufacturing capabilities.
  • Establish and refine operating parameters for new and existing processes; conduct optimization experiments; establish best practices and procedures.
  • Utilize lean and/or continuous improvement experience to facilitate process improvements and teach others.
  • Working with customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions (occasional travel may be expected).
  • Training production operators and work collaboratively with them to improve Coater productivity.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a STEM field OR at least 2 years of experience troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in the Optical Coating Industry OR in Optical Thin Film and/or vacuum related technologies
  • Familiarity with Optical Spectroscopy instruments
  • Familiarity with thin film optical materials and thin film optical characterization techniques
  • Experience TF Calc, OptiLayer, Essential McLeod, or other thin film modeling packages preferred
  • Experience with statistical methods and analysis
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with complex projects; ability to analyze problems quickly; development of corrective actions
  • Reactive magnetron sputtering process experience
