THIS ROLE IS 100% REMOTE

TOOLS & CONFIGURATION ANALYST - This role can be performed anywhere in the USA. It is a 1099 Independent Contractor role with no benefits, it is a long-term role.

The Tools specialist will be responsible for providing operational support in configuring tools. Role demands a motivated, highly technical tools Engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills. The specialist will create and document standard processes and procedures.

The Tools and Monitoring Specialist will configure the necessary requirements for filters, events, alerts, and dashboards and reporting in various monitoring tools. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting tools and its components related but not limited to Entuity, ELK, TSOM, Patrol, and other tools. As part of their duty, perform extensive research and analysis to attain the best practices, gather and analyze data to identify areas needing improvement, produce proposals, and implement solutions in problem areas. Collaborate with Incident and Process office to create documentation following best practices, championing procedural participation, and improve monitoring of all the assets on consistent basis throughout the IT organization. Additional collaboration will be required with the Asset Management Office, Change Management and Service & Problem Management.

The specialist will join a diverse team and the ideal engineer for this role is comfortable working in a multifaceted and creative team charged with exploring an uncharted and rapidly evolving domain..

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in computer science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.

Work US based business hours in Orange, CT

Experience with the following technologies: BMC Patrol, Entuity, ELK, AppDynamics, others.

3+ years of experience in managing tools, configuration, and monitoring.

IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification and experience preferred.

2+ years of business process improvement experience.

2+ years familiarity with Iberdrola IT processes and CMDB a plus.

Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.

Advanced history managing incident and problem management process, including reporting KPI's.

Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.

Job Description

Manages tools and config management process for all Infrastructure and software, and cloud.

Acts as Level 2 SME contact for all escalations related to tools, configuration, and monitoring services.

Coordinate the required review and update of system monitoring tools, creation roles and reviews, and implementation of custom packs for reporting or data gathering, as needed.

Performs stress testing of services/applications prior to production implementation.

Create customized dynamic reports for and not limited to tools such as TSOM, ELK (Kibana) and Entuity.

Participate in QA of tools and assist with deployment, support of the tools to monitor infrastructure - systems, networking gear, database, storage, application, logs.

Assist Process Management in creating workflows, and documentation as related to tools.

Develop, implement, and analyze service dashboards and alerts to meet the requirements of the application, infra and other support teams.

Conduct risk assessments and develops mitigation plans related to Infrastructure.

Create and maintain appropriate documentation of systems, processes, recovery, and troubleshooting.

Interacts with IT Governance and auditors to ensure proper reporting and metrics are obtained.

Recommend to AGR Incident and Process Office any changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate policies and procedures.

Develop and administer awareness and training programs to IOC in support of the tools and alert management programs.

Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

Interacts with IT Governance and auditors to ensure proper reporting and metrics are obtained.
