Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking to hire a Traffic EIT/Planner our Saint Louis Park, MN or Madison, WI office who will have the opportunity to work on projects across the country from other HDR offices. The overarching responsibilities for the position include production assignments on traffic and cross-disciplinary projects.
Projects will range from traditional traffic engineering/planning studies to innovative solution development with advanced technologies for surface transportation. The range of projects that the individual in this position will work on may include:
- Traffic engineering studies
- Corridor studies
- Corridor signal timing and optimization
- Highway/roadway safety analyses
- Travel demand forecasting
- Local, regional and statewide multimodal transportation plans
- Transportation planning reports
- Transit studies (rail and bus)
- Bicycle and pedestrian studies
- Roadway and bridge projects with major traffic analysis components
- Design-build projects with major traffic analysis components
- Transportation research
Must be able to independently lead large and small transportation tasks.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineering or closely related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years traffic engineering/transportation planning experience preferred.
- EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
