Trailer Mechanic (Stockton, CA)
Valley Farm Transport is seeking a full-time Trailer Mechanic. Experience with welding abilities preferred but not required. Must have a clean DMV record. Must have the ability to work a swing shift and weekends during summer months. Competitive pay and benefits.

Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Terminal Manager, this position performs required maintenance and service on company trailers, ensures that corrective preventative maintenance procedures are followed, and performs other related duties as assigned. Special emphasis should be placed on quality workmanship, good housekeeping and labor productivity.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Perform 90 Day inspections on VFT trailing equipment.
2. Maintain paperwork in shop to reflect inspection dates.
3. Complete and file inspection reports.
4. Perform assigned jobs in the safest and most efficient manner.
5. Select proper tools, equipment and correct parts for each work order assigned.
6. Inspect trailer tires for the correct air pressure, age and tread depth.
7. Retrieve parts as requested.
8. Ensure the quality of workmanship is up to required company standards
9. Complete assigned jobs within allotted time and as specified under limited supervision.
10. Maintain high standards of good housekeeping in your area of the shop and yard areas.
11. Ensure that you maintain a high level of awareness of safety requirements and comply with OSHA regulations.
12. Report unsafe conditions to Terminal Manager.
13. Report maintenance and/or repairs needed on service equipment, forklifts or shop tools.
14. Always conduct yourself in a professional manner should you come in contact with customers.
15. Understand and support company policies.
Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent
- 3 Year’s Experience
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to read & understand repair manuals
- Ability to multitask & work as a team
- Must be able to pass pre-employment Drug test and background Check
Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose & perform minor to complex repairs for all types of equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain a positive & proactive work environment
