Overview:

Under direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position will be responsible for implementing corporate and property specific learning and development programs at Grand Canyon Railway, The Grand Hotel, Tusayan Trading Post and other properties as assigned. This individual will ensure that all goals are executed in a timely and sustainable manner.

Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Through consultations with Director of HR, property GM’s and Corporate Learning & Development Manager determine annually which current training programs will be offered as well as adding Xanterra standardized programs across departments. Coordinate scheduling, materials preparation and facilitate all programs according to standard.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and support alcohol prevention training as directed by Xanterra policies. Requires training certification with TIP’s.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and support New Hire Orientation working with HR Director and Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • Support, coordinate and implement training to ensure Xanterra Hospitality Standards are in place at each property.
  • May conduct Safety Train the Trainer. May attend properties Safety Training programs to monitor compliance.
  • Responsible for roll out, reporting and support of LMS (SABA).
  • Assist with implementation and coordination of Drug and Alcohol training.
  • Provide support to all departments to ensure that goals and obligations are met on a timely basis.
  • Assist with enforcing Company policy and procedures.
  • Perform related and other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey material in an understandable measurable manner to the seminar attendees.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to read write and speak English.
  • Possess or able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License, and comply with the Xanterra Park’s & Resorts Company Vehicle Policy.
  • Currently have or receive within first 3 months: TiPS Trainer Certification, ServSafe Trainer/Proctor Certification


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with an LMS preferred
  • HR Generalist experience with an emphasis on recruiting and employee relations and benefits.
  • PHR and experience in hospitality industry a plus.
  • Lawson, Kronos and Outlook experience a plus.
  • Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Constantly listening, sitting, hearing, seeing, and using eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion.
  • Frequently handle, walk and lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 40lbs.
