Walnut Hill School for the Arts seeks a Transportation Coordinator to join the team at a boarding and day arts high school in Natick, MA. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Facilities & Operations. Schedule is M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with an ½ hour unpaid lunch break, with some flexibility.

The Transportation Coordinator manages all aspects of the School’s transportation needs during the school year and provides support to the Facilities department during the summer and as needed. This position works closely with all members of the Walnut Hill community including students, faculty, staff, and transportation vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of school transportation;
• Arrange rides to and from appointments, field trips, lessons, airport/train/bus, etc.
• Coordinate with internal drivers and outside transportation vendors;
• Provide regular transportation utilization reports and coordinate with AP/AR for student billing;
• Provide assistance and customer service to students, faculty, and staff regarding rider concerns;
• Assist drivers in completing injury and accident reports;
• Regularly inspect, manage, coordinate, and maintain vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, mileage, and usage;
• Assist with price negotiation, third-party vendor contracts, pricing, and reporting as needed;
• Review and make recommendations for developing, implementing, improving, and expanding alternative transportation services and policies;
• Provide occasional driving/chaperoning duties as needed;
• Perform various facilities duties during the summer and as needed during the school year; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ years related experience required;
• Experience with heavy scheduling and transportation systems a plus;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a wide range of people:

Physical Demands

Physical demands include dexterity for mechanical and supply operation including but not limited to driving, writing, typing, using electronic devices, computer, phone, office machinery, copy machine, fax machine, and printers, and tools. Walking, ascending/descending stairs, stooping, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time are common. Ability to move continuously during work hours and ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds is required. Work environment may include extreme temperatures both inside and outside, precipitation due to the New England weather, and machinery noise. Proper use of applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
