Sirius Staffing are seeking a Transportation Engineer for a temporary to hire opportunity. This individual must be able to report to either of following offices: Birmingham, AL., Spanish Fort, AL, and Huntsville, Al. You must live in a city in Alabama where an office is located or be able to commute in. You will travel up to 25% max mainly in Alabama. The schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00a to 5:00pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Should be detail-oriented and display excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Should be self-motivated/self-starter and able to work with skilled and unskilled workers.
• Checking calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and conformance to good engineering practice
• Should be able to prepare documents appropriately focused on the targeted audience, including elected officials, media, skilled staff, unskilled staff, and the public.
• Experience designing roadway projects with Bentley programs such as MicroStation and Inroads.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
• Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes identified.
• Performing fieldwork necessary to gather field data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
• Ability to identify and develop work-sharing packages for interoffice execution support. Provide leadership to ensure communication and execution of work within scope, schedule, and budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama,
• B.S. in Engineering
• Plus 5 years of experience performing transportation engineering work in the appropriate field, one year of which includes supervisory duties.
• Experience on construction projects in government, city, and county environments

PREFERRED

• 5-8 years of financial responsibility during all phases of project management and budgeting

Pay: $38.46 - $48.08 per hour
