Under the direction of the Transportation Director, the Transportation Operations Manager oversees the daily operations, staffing, recruiting, scheduling, and client request of the Traffic Operations Center (TOC). The TOC is the heart of transportation management for Park City’s winter operations and Special Events. The staff is “eyes in the sky” for traffic operations. The Operations Manager will lead a team of TMC Operators to monitor the roadway networks and coordinate with City departments and resorts, and construction professionals on any roadway events. The Operations manager serves as a point of contact for activities related to assigned area(s) of responsibility. In this role, you will perform various operational, administrative, clerical, data collection, and data entry specific to the assigned projects or work group.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the development and implementation of roadway technology used for operating and managing the city’s transportation network.
  • Keeps City Managers and Transportation Director informed of the day-to-day activities during Special events, and winter ski season.
  • Collaborates with city staff to identify operational needs for special events and winter operations. This may include identifying staffing needs, operational changes, and
  • coordination with resorts, county, DOT, and external partners.
  • Anticipates problems and works with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and Program Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitates meetings; prepares and submits summary of project progress and pending issues to Transportation Director.
  • Works with key meeting coordinators and company management to ensure clear communication regarding all events and assignments. May provide guidance and supervision to other staff as requested, including review of completed assignments.
  • Exemplary professional attitude and demonstrated ability in exercising tact, diplomacy, good judgment, and support.
  • Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support the city’s transportation network.
  • Completes a variety of complex assignments requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to interface effectively with a variety of people. Will assist with proposal writing and incident management training.
  • Manages scheduling, labor hours, and shift coverage of staff.
  • Actively promotes and supports safety policies to enhance traveler mobility and safety.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A 4-year degree is preferred (or equivalent experience) and 12 + years of related work experience is required with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Candidate must have a minimum of 5+ years’ Transportation Planning, Special Event Planning, and transportation experience involving traffic analysis and evaluation of transportation operations issues and finding creative solutions to complex transportation problems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $109,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
