Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Transporter, you will be responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens throughout the facility. You will clean and maintain equipment for transporting, and maintain friendly and professional interactions with patients and family members.

• You will transport patients using the appropriate mode of transportation as indicated on the exam requisition
• You will notify nursing staff of patient location, and will sign patients in and out appropriately
• You will monitor the patient’s general health while transporting and report any significant changes in patient condition
• You will prioritize the retrieval of patients using the exam schedule and request of technologists
• You will facilitate the comfort and needs of the patient before, during, and after the exam
• You will perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeep

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• Previous Imaging Services experience – preferred
• 1 year of experience in the medical field – preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David’s Round Rock.
