FREIGHTCORE INC is looking for a Fleet Manager to manage & maintain our fleet of over tractors, trailers, chassis & forklifts at out Memphis as well as other locations.

Job Summary:

Provide oversight and best practices to the company’s fleet maintenance shops or repair facilities. Will be a knowledge expert on fleet maintenance and corporate resource to assigned locations regarding standard truck shop operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works in conjunction with General Managers and Shop Managers to develop maintenance procedures that provide for the operation of a safe and efficient truck fleet. Key elements include the following strategies:
  • Provide GM’s with key indicators to better manage their fleet maintenance function.
  • Center of Excellence support to Shop Managers to provide them the tools to manage equipment uptime and fleet maintenance quality.
  • Ensure sufficient outside vendor resources.
  • Establish staffing and shift planning for each facility.
  • PM Planning
  • Ability to provide written documentation of best practices and policies as well as metrics to gauge progress.
  • Develop recommended operating procedures and schedules for assigned truck shop operations.
  • Develop and maintain a common safety culture by assuring the identification and control of workplace hazards for all employees to reduce recordable injuries.
  • Expected to perform other job duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy trucks.
  • A minimum of 3 years of previous supervisory experience in the same industry.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate an assessment of current processes and recommendations both verbally and in written format.
  • Proficiency in fleet maintenance management software.
  • Above average computer skills in a networked environment with knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Ability to develop presentations, publish material, for use in employee, customer, vendor or association meetings.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with operations management and lead by influence is essential.
  • Ability to work all shifts and travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections and Brake Inspections
  • CDL Class A license is a plus
