Job description
The mission of the Tygart Valley United Way is to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every member of the community. Through our community impact programs such as managing WV 211, an information and referral hotline, and administering FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter Programs, along with raising and providing allocations to our health and human service, education and financial stability partners, we are able to fulfill our mission by serving our five-county region: Marion, Randolph, Taylor, Barbour and Tucker. The model of this program, in Marion Co. will follow much of the 21st Century Community Learning Center guidelines in that homework help, STEAM activities, character development and physical activities will all be highlighted. Giving students and opportunity to be off the streets and further their education. Additionally, Flipside participants will be served a hot meal each day.
Member Duties : The member chosen for this team, will have an exciting time shaping the futures of young middle school children. Member efforts will be researching curriculum models, Develop plans for implementing the curriculum, recruit volunteers and professional mentors for the children's, build partnerships with school staff and like minded businesses, identify needs of students, build a database to measure student outcomes. all in an effort to shape the future of young minds for better education and brighter futures.
