Job description
The Undergraduate Administrator is an active representative of the Department and acts as the interface between the Department and its main constituents with whom it interacts: undergraduate students, faculty, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of the Dean of the College, residential colleges, and other University administrative units.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the DUS, advise undergraduate students on all aspects of the Psychology major, from admissions through graduation
- Provides high-level administrative support for undergraduates entering the Psychology major.
- Develops and manages solutions that support complex administrative processes and projects.
- Serves as the Department’s liaison to the Office of the Dean of the College and the Office of the Registrar on issues related to course scheduling and grading, student enrollment, academic progress, and degree completion.
- Works with the Associate Chair and the DUS to schedule all Department undergraduate courses including: maintenance of existing courses, assistance with new course requests, room scheduling, precept/lab scheduling, etc.
- Provides administration for Fall and Spring Junior Papers, Junior Independent Work, and Senior Thesis Undergraduate Administrator Updated November 2016 Reviewed October 2017
- Primary responsibility for planning and execution of Department undergraduate events, working with Office and Events Coordinator and other Department staff
- Documents Department processes and procedures, and policies, related to the undergraduate program.
- Works closely and collaboratively with Department Graduate Program Manager (e.g., backup support for Graduate Program Manager, AI support for undergraduate courses, etc.)
- Organize the Department Undergraduate Education Committee and ensure feedback is provided to Department leadership.
- Manage financial activity associated with the undergraduate program.
- Organize and present undergraduate-related information at key Department faculty meetings throughout the academic year Essential Qualifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years of related work experience
- High level of competency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; attention to detail partnered with the ability to think and execute strategically
- Effective organizational and project coordination skills
- Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to identify mutual interests, work collaboratively, and create consensus among stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and present data (quantitative and qualitative) for varying constituencies and purposes
- Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information in a discrete manner.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
