The
Underwriting Director will be directly responsible for the supervision, training and development of commercial lines staff to ensure that Profit Center business goals and objectives are successfully achieved.
Key Functions will include but not be limited to:
- Supervise underwriting staff. Hire, train and mentor underwriters and underwriter team leaders. Conduct performance and salary reviews.
- Conduct quality reviews. Assist Home office quality review team as needed.
- Assign underwriters to agencies, and assign staff to underwriting teams.
- Act as referral source for all underwriters. Refer as required to branch manager/home office.
- Monitor unit performance in regard to growth, loss ratio and pricing. Take corrective action as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.)
- Must have a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have at least two years of supervisory experience.
