Job description

JOB DUTIES:

A. Reviews "open" medical records to identify physician (medication) orders and facilitate same being processed; tag

unauthenticated medical record entries.

B. Ensures in-chart availability of transcribed physician reports involving current and previous episodes of care.

C. Facilitates "stat" lab tests and radiology studies being performed and results being communicated.

D. Prepares medical record charts, including patient labels, etc., for incoming patient admissions and processes charts on discharge.

E. Serves as unit receptionist, communicating with all care providers, e.g., physicians, nurses, therapists, etc. and visitors (patient friends and family), as needed.

F. Updates electronic bed management system, e.g., bed assignment, census, etc.

G. Ensures all legal documents are available in the chart, e.g., court proceedings, consent forms, etc.

H. Routinely provides back-up support to other patient units.

I. Communicates patient (emergency) status and operational safety codes, as needed.

J. Monitors levels of supplies and orders same, as needed.

K. Serves as a positive role model in providing internal and external customer service.

L. Attends, participates, and actively support Acadia Healthcare educational programs and initiatives.

M. Performs other duties, as required.
