Shift: Days

Summary:

Perform secretarial duties using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory

procedures. Duties may include compiling and recording medical charts, reports, and correspondence.

Requirements:

Essential Functions:

  • Answer telephones, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff. Transmit correspondence and medical
  • records by mail, e-mail, or fax.
  • Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories and medical records.
  • Assists with the provision of safe, quality patient care.

Experience and Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Over 6 months, up to and including 1 year prior

clerical experience preferred in a medical setting.

Physical Requirements

Employee lifts/carries 30 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the time or 1-100 times/day.)

Employee lifts/carries <10 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time or 100-500 times/day.)

Employee lifts/carries 5 pounds constantly (67-100% of the time or over 500 times/day.)

Employee’s position requires pushing a maximum force of 45 pounds.

Employee’s position requires pulling a maximum force of 75 pounds.
