The Used Equipment Manager is responsible for assisting the Whole Goods Sales Director in driving operational excellence for used equipment sales and associated metrics.
This role is a high value-add business partner to the Bane-Welker Equipment Team, enabling revenue growth and increasing sales productivity by providing effective methodologies, efficient processes, value-added information, and sales tools.
This Position will be servicing all stores in the Complex and will mainly be a remote position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engage in offsite buying opportunities outside of new equipment purchase trades
  • Partner with General and Sales Managers
  • Develop systems to stay align on goals and responsibilities of Sales Team
  • Implement routinely scheduled development of new Salesmen
  • Work together to ensure used levels are appropriate based on category and market conditions
  • Develop a plan to continuously review used equipment inventory to ensure availability
    • Based on category and market conditions
  • Collaborate with Sales team on presale of trades
  • Partner with Accounting and Procurement Teams
  • Continuously evaluate tools for purchasing equipment per BWE guidelines
  • Develop relationships with other dealers to partner in trading equipment
    • Example: Deere combine for Case
  • Develop working relationship with Service Director
  • Develop a reconditioning program for Service Managers and Sales Team that would be reviewed quarterly
    • Cleaning/ repair of equipment
  • Implement ongoing development of the internal trade appraisal team and processes
  • Develop the future of how we evaluate equipment
  • Chair the Used Equipment Trade Appraisal Committee
  • Coach Equipment Sales Representatives to achieve expected used equipment turns and sales margins
  • Develop a plan to educate Sales Reps and store teams on how to leverage reporting tools to increase sales
  • Develop relationships with wholesale buyers and auction companies
  • Implement a plan to visit each store per quarter to review equipment conditions and support General Managers with sales process
Education and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in technical or business-related field or 5+ years of experience in sales operations with proficiency of optimizing processes, and buying equipment
  • Ability to understand and implement high-level sales strategies, translate them into systems and process requirements, and ensure execution and business impact
  • Experience with Microsoft software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Willingness to travel
    • Some overnight stays

Work is performed in an office environment.
