Utility Designer

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, PLLC (ICE) is looking for a motivated Utility Designer to our growing team in Florida
.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting projects with locating and potentially designing the relocation of water/sewer utility lines and systems when needed according to code. Analyzes prints and isometric drawings of natural gas, telecom, water, sewer, and storm, including associated distribution and feeder networks on potential projects and makes recommendations on right of way issues and utility line relocations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend utility meetings maintaining notes/minutes, action register and other documentation and follow up on action items from these project meetings
- Provide input to or prepare written documentation to be included in proposals, design standards, and project requirements
- Daily, weekly, or monthly reports, emails, reporting to the client on an as needed project basis
- Communicate with Utilities relocation requirements for large road, structure projects by understanding the scope of the project, methods of installation, and design impact on existing utilities including gas, telecom, water, sewer, and storm, including associated distribution and feeder networks
- Procure Utility Records and planned expansions from the utilities and municipalities
- Calculate relocation costs and timing for utility relocations
- Transfer Utility designs, municipal applications, and/or record drawings into the base drawing, convert to the project standard and prepare Composite Utility Plans and/or direct/assist CAD assistant to do so
- Prepare utility designs and/or running lines
- Additional duties as assigned by your manager
EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

Professional Engineer license preferred
-
5+ years of experience in utilities design/relocations/upgrades

Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other engineering software is desired

Strong MS Office skills required, Word, Excel, Outlook
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position will be a full-time position. The ICE office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
