Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Operate excavator to dig, install, and backfill all types and sizes of utility pipe operations
• Must be able to ensure the excavator is set up properly
• Lubricate and adjust excavator and attachments and provide normal maintenance.
• Requires knowledge of use of excavator in moving heavy loads and skill in manipulating excavator in difficult situations.
• Requires knowledge of proper hand signals for excavator.
• Must have rigging knowledge
• Must keep daily inspection log on excavator.
• Must have positive attitude and good work ethic

PHYSICAL DEMAND: Operating within the cab, manipulating controls.

MENTAL & VISUAL DEMAND: Constant attention to boom, to material or equipment being moved or manipulated, and to other equipment, personnel, or obstructions in the area. Daily inspection of excavator, slings, etc.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required

• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.

• Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least ten hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
