PURPOSE:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organizations products and/or development processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Review, audit and communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Root Cause analysis - Internal Audit experience - APQP's - Metal Background
    Strong understanding of IATF, ISO, and TS certifications and compliance
  • Coordinates product testing processes.
  • Participates in product testing.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Hires and trains quality assurance staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Monthly Quality Performance / KPI / PPM / Organization
  • Management review / Business Plan
  • Audit preparation and responding : IATF16949 / ISO / VDA
  • Supplier control / audit / self-assessment
  • Quality Monthly Meeting / Report
  • Communication with plant employees / CSR / Customers
  • Understanding & Use the Customer’s portal program
  • Supplier Management : Auditing / Monitoring / Evaluation /LPA Auditor and Internal/External Audits


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed required.
  • Three to five years of experience in related field required with supervisory experience a plus.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in a related field
  • VDA Certification
  • Proficient in MS Office / MS Word / MS Excel
  • Proficient in MRO / ERP / SAP / EEI / PLEX
  • Knowledge of MSA, blueprint reading, statistics, and process capability.
  • Familiar with CMM, OGP machines and technology / GD & T
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills that will translate to the ability to establish constructive relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment where multiple priorities exist simultaneously
  • Experience in writing reports and other summary documents
  • Proficient in data evaluation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
    • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.


FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE
:

    • Location: Opelika, AL
    • Schedule: Day Shift
    • Core Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm / Monday – Friday
    • Weekly Overtime: If Needed
    • Weekend Work: If Needed
    • Travel: None
    • Assignment Start: ASAP
