Job description

The Vegetation Management Technician fulfills the role of actively managing vegetation including non-native invasive weeds, non-desirable weeds in flower beds and turf, and maintaining beautiful landscapes for customers.

Management is done by application of herbicide and insecticide or physically removing weeds with weed trimmers or by hand. The technician follows guidance from an experienced licensed supervisor to complete projects and jobs in a safe and timely manner.

This position is seasonal full-time (40-50 hours/week).

Pay rate is determined based on experience.

The technician will be working in the Grand Valley area and in remote environments often out of cell service in the mountains, canyons, valleys, and gulches in the areas surrounding the Grand Junction area.

Vegetation Management Technicians must be able to

• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Wear and hike with a backpack sprayer weighing up to 40 lbs
• Be outside all day in the sunshine, heat, and/or remotely in the mountains
• Follow verbal and/or written instruction
• Follow safety guidelines at all times
• Have effective customer service skills
• Provide their own transportation to work
• Maintain a professional appearance

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

• lawn care or other outdoor work: 1 year (Preferred)
