Job Description

The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles in a timely and cost efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities

Performs all aspects of vehicle and engine repair and maintenance including but not limited to tune up and engine analysis:

• Diagnose and estimate cost of necessary mechanical repairs to automobiles.
• Repair vehicles according to diagnosis and estimate.
• Maintain accurate records of parts and labor utilized.

• Interacts with customers to give written pricing and repair time estimates.
• Operates computerized engine diagnostic machine.
• Supervises other mechanics.
• Required to repair mechanical failures in buses.
• Moves vehicles to and from service areas.
• Performs test drives.
• Operates tow truck vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in preventative maintenance using tools and equipment and repairs
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and follow instructions
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years driving experience
• Safe and efficient operation of motor vehicles
• Valid and current driver’s license required; CDL Driver's License may be required
• Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
