Job description

Shiloh Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time kennel assistant. MUST be able to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. MUST have reliable transformation and be on time for shifts. The kennel assistant is responsible for providing care and the basic needs of animals that are boarded. This includes cleaning cages and runs, laundry, supervising the play yard, proper feeding and medicating, and bathing/brushing.

Job Requirements/Skills/Physical Demands: The kennel assistant must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet all day. Must be customer service oriented and friendly. Professional appearance required, scrubs are to be worn at all times and are to be maintained by the employee. Must be able to work all shifts scheduled and be on time. Employee must be able to work well independently and in a group. Kennel assistants must be able to administer medications orally, bathe and brush, clean kennels daily, laundry daily, and have knowledge of general physical condition of the pets boarding.

Kennel Assistant Duties:

- Cleaning cages and runs daily

- Maintaining cleanliness of boarding facility

- Obtaining information from clients for boarding

- Administering medication

- Observing animals and notifying technicians/doctor of any abnormalities in general physical condition

- Feeding

- Bathing

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
