The VP, Marketing Strategy will lead all aspects of strategic planning across Scholastic Book Fairs Marketing and Customer Experience. Reporting to the SVP, Marketing and Customer Experience, the VP will develop, and implement marketing campaigns, programs and branding efforts to achieve long- and short-term business goals. This individual should have a successful track record of establishing and leading marketing strategy in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has significant expertise building brand awareness and being a thought leader with the ability to execute scalable, revenue driving strategies that produce impactful results. The VP will lead the Customer Insights, Marketing Operations, and Marketing Strategy functions, who as a collective, are responsible for all strategic planning, campaign and program management across all channels, inclusive of Sales Enablement, In Fair Marketing, and Digital channels. The VP, Marketing will work in close collaboration with the VP, Creative Director and Editorial Director on the development and execution of all marketing creative.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead all aspects of marketing campaign planning from inception to delivery - including strategic approach, ideation, briefing, execution, and performance tracking.

Develop and implement a cohesive marketing plan to increase brand awareness.

Set current and long-term goals for internal teams.

Design and review the Marketing department’s budget in partnership with Marketing Operations.

Direct Fairs Marketing Functional groups in development of approach and progress of campaign assets across all Customer Touchpoints (inclusive of physical retail locations and all digital experiences).

Direct Marketing Managers in the development of creative and media briefs to instigate and inspire creative and agency partners.

Actively seek out and find opportunities for innovative marketing approaches.

Work with Marketing Operations to ensure campaign assets and collateral are brought to life across all placements and target audiences through asset tracking.

Further develop, define, and implement our DEIB strategy for kids and the adults they learn from.

Collaborate with partner departments, with special emphasis on Strategy and Sales, building and driving a process to measure and optimize customer relationship and performance.

Actively track, analyze and apply campaign findings into real-time optimization and long-term approaches

Develop internal and external presentation materials and decks

Deepen the Book Fairs organization’s understanding of productive tactics and audience insights by socializing efforts and impact.

Communicate different facets of campaigns to stakeholder groups

15+ years’ experience in marketing or a consumer strategy position

Bachelor’s Degree Required

Ability to interpret analytics and apply research to make informed recommendations.

Experience working within and collaborating with cross-functional teams at all levels, as well as third party agencies and partners

Possess ability to balance multiple campaigns at one time and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Anticipate and react seamlessly to strategy and initiative pivots.

Previous management experience
