Job Purpose
The VP of Product Strategy and Innovation will define the overall product strategy for Pressed and execute upon opportunities/programs to grow and differentiate the portfolio and build presence in new categories with unmet customer needs that are consistent with the Company’s mission and vision.

This role will leverage market insights, lead product discovery, create/quantify product value propositions, and manage lifecycle planning for new innovations and existing products by engaging with cross-functional teams.

She/He/They will have a 'general manager' mindset as a critical focal point of activity across various support functions. They will be knowledgeable and passionate about health and wellness, creative, data-driven, and have a track record of successfully building product portfolios.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Leads and manages the research and development for all products within the Pressed portfolio.
  • Develops product strategy/lifecycle management to support current and new products, features, enhancements, processes, and programming targeted to achieve maximum ROI, durability, targeted profitable revenue growth, share position, customer satisfaction, and retention.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and leverages market research, industry trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to identify the most effective product value propositions, architect and prioritize a product strategy roadmap, deliver product development briefs to our R&D team, drive decision making, develop appropriate product metrics and goals, and create sustained competitive advantage.
  • Prioritizes projects and execution based on available resources; Assesses/monitors impact on KPI's and alignment with overall business strategy. Ensures cross-functional readiness for launches/enhancements in close partnership with go-to-market and operational teams.
  • Translates products into clear value propositions with defined customer targets that are easily understood internally and externally.
  • Designs quantitative and qualitative research approach to support product prioritization and creation.
  • Drives long range planning across the business, collaborating with retail, wholesale, marketing, manufacturing, and operations leaders. Layers in innovation/NPD opportunities. Develops and monitors the partnership landscape for opportunities in the core or near-adjacent markets.
  • Collaborates with suppliers, researchers, legal, and other stakeholders to develop formulations, analyze risk and establish claims.
Qualifications & Capabilities
  • 10+years’ experience driving product function, including innovation & strategy, development and launch at a CPG or foodservice company.
  • Proven experience in ROI driven product management practices.
  • Expertise in strategy development and product management with analytical approach to evaluation of new opportunities / categories and existing products.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully growing businesses and product portfolios by developing and executing innovative product roadmaps.
  • Proven ability to identify key customer segments, needs and gaps and design fit-for-purpose solutions with a clear value proposition.
  • Passion for Health and Wellness with a focus on problem / solution identification.
  • Executive level business acumen and communication skills; skilled at gaining input and buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders and synthesizing perspectives into final decisions.
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple external and internal stakeholders.
