The American Lung Association in Rhode Island and Connecticut is seeking dedicated, passionate community leaders to join our Local Leadership Board and help achieve the organization’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Board Member Roles & Responsibilities:

• Serve as an ambassador and advocate for the American Lung Association
• Participate in orientation and educational activities, remaining current with the organization’s mission, health initiatives, advocacy, fundraising efforts and policies
• With guidance from Lung Association staff, actively participate in fundraising efforts for the organization, including special events, donor cultivation and recognition, and developing corporate and foundation partnerships
• Actively participate in the organization’s local advocacy efforts
• Work with Lung Association staff to help steward and acknowledge donors
• Connect a diverse group of community leaders to the work of the American Lung Association by engaging new companies, organizations, and individuals from your sphere of influence
• Identify local community needs and help strategize to meet those needs
• Present feedback, ideas, and/or concerns to the Regional Board
