Summary
:
This position supports the Closing Supervisor in all tasks and processes associated with the end-of-day CDC warehouse procedures. This position is responsible for all closing duties as a backup for the Closing Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively interface with logistics and take the lead role in the morning loading process including, but not limited to, Mars trucks, truck swaps, all outside carriers, driver second runs and same-day deliveries.
- Act as the main point of contact on the dock until the closing dock associate arrives and takes over the responsibility.
- Look at the logistics driver board and direct all morning stock pickers based on which drivers will be back first and which stocks they will need completed.
- Help pick any same day or stock pipe orders that will need to be sent before the pipe team arrives.
- Help pick same day, second run and E-Commerce orders as seen in the system or requested by the logistics team.
- QC or wrap outgoing stock or second run pallets.
- Help replenish and organize the QC stations with proper supplies and boxes, emptying trash or setting up totes as needed.
- Have all skids and material lined up and ready for second run deliveries to reduce driver wait time.
- Unload and load the drivers’ trucks as they arrive.
- Continuously watch the dock as the main point of contact for all unloading and inspection of material until the afternoon dock associate arrives, including both standard receiving trucks as well as pipe trucks. Handle all unloading and potential damage according to the receiving department’s guidelines.
- Down stock in the power picking aisle when not otherwise occupied on the dock.
- Work towards continuous improvement of the operations through implementation of cost savings, cost avoidance and process improvement opportunities identified throughout the warehouse operations.
- Responsible for acting in accordance with Mars’ Safety procedures with all employees helping to ensure the facility is always operating in a safe manner.
Other Skills and Qualifications
:
- A minimum 5 years of progressive responsibilities in warehouse operations, logistics or combination of relevant education and work experience.
- Aptitude for all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, customer service and efficiency in past roles.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, accommodating all levels of operational requests and management.
