Warehouse Customer Service Associate

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: M-F 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour – depends on experience

Location: Edison, NJ - onsite

This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager focusing on Customer related administrative support including order entry, customer follow-ups, and handling of incoming and outgoing paperwork through completion to billing. The candidate assures that customers receive efficient and courteous service and care through all customer requirements. Key job responsibility covers (a) Order Management; (b) Warehouse/Shipping (c) General Customer Support; and (d) Other Back-Office Support

Responsibilities

(a) Order Management

  • Receives Customer Purchase Orders and Change Orders via email, electronic or other methods.
  • Confirm Customer Purchase Orders for customers after obtaining delivery information from Warehouse staff.
  • Update customers order status, and advises customers delivery/lead time changes when needed.
  • Resolves customer requests for adjustments in orders and processes according to company procedures.
  • Acts as liaison between customer, warehouse team and various organizational (both internal & external) departments
  • Works on routine customer service assignments using established procedures.

(b) Warehouse/Shipping

  • Assists in shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers and/or vendors, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so inventory are located and distributed to proper warehouse team and customers in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
  • Forwards proper documentation and materials to requisitioner for receiving inspection and storage.
  • Data entry into warehouse management and WMS software for inventory maintenance, serial number assignment, and accurate record keeping.

(c) General Customer Support

  • Receives telephone requests by customers.
  • Processes Customer requests with administrative nature within established guidelines and provides product or service information of a non-technical nature per requests.
  • Routes to appropriate internal staff members for other Customer requests
  • Prepares quotations as requested by Customer’s or Sales representatives.

(d) Other Back Office Support

  • Assist in telephone support and direction.
  • Processes other customer support related procedures as required.
  • Assist with purchases for, and shipments to affiliates, as required.
  • Carries out other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned by management, such as billing, shipping, warehousing, inventory management, RMA processing, etc.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Key software platforms required – knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Additional software platforms a plus – Smartsheet, UPS WorldShip, Fed-ex Ship manger

Education

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
