Position Description – Warehouse Load Crew Manager

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Position Objective:

The Warehouse Load Crew Manager is responsible for the efficient, safe and accurate loading of the delivery trucks and performing the assigned warehouse maintenance tasks that accompany the position.

Description of Physical Tasks:

Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Pushes/pulls hand truck to machine or shelves and loads appropriate company products. Climbing in and out of vehicle and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage 15 to 20 load crew members and making sure 25 to 30 delivery routes are loaded efficiently and accurately while maintaining company standards.
• Develop and maintain a work schedule for all warehouse load crew employees and require their adherence to it.
• Prior to starting the loading process, review the total quantity to be pulled and the trucks that are to be loaded. Discuss any space concerns with the Warehouse and Delivery manager.
• Supervise all warehouse load crew employees to ensure they are performing their assigned duties in an efficient manner. Direct their efforts in conjunction with the Team Leader.
• Build loads for each route in the most efficient manner.
• Ensure loads are done accurately and neatly.
• Require that all possible steps are taken to prevent the loss of product through pilferage, damage, or aging.
• Be aware of code dates and load the oldest product first.
• Manage all load crew times and hours while measuring productivity among all load crew members.
• On a quarterly basis and with the assistance of your supervisors conduct performance reviews on all warehouse employees.
• Report any accidents to warehouse manager immediately.
• Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of the company.
• Dress in uniform and maintain your personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
• Conduct all load crew activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
• Conduct all of your activities in accordance to the local, state and federal liquor control regulations.
• Perform all work activities in accordance to the safe work practices, policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all established inventory control procedures and practices.
• Secure building and grounds and set security system before leaving for the evening.
• Adapt to any new responsibilities required by the Warehouse Manager.
