Job Summary
Supervises warehouse functions to ensure accurate and timely completion and delivery for the customer. Responsibilities include the assignment of department employees and coordination of workflow with other departments. Trains employees, evaluates progress and many mentor or coach staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

• Monitors schedules for shipping and receiving.
• Assigns tasks to department personnel to assure all job duties are completed.
• Evaluates performance of individual employees based on goals for productivity and quality.
• Develops and implements processes to reduce labor and material costs.
• Trains new employees and provides any necessary additional training to existing staff.
• Ensures compliance with established plant policies and procedures.
• Communicates with other department managers, supervisors, sales and Corporate regarding production schedules and requirements to ensure production quality and resources efficiency.
• Inventories and orders raw material.
• Approves timecards and manages time off request for staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Regular exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, etc. more than 50% of work time.
• Incumbent constantly required to hear, speak, articulate, use color vision and use manual dexterity.
• Incumbent regularly required to stand, walk, grasp and reach.
• Incumbent occasionally required to climb, lift up to 50 lbs., carry and sit for prolonged periods of time.

Job Requirements

• The minimum education required for this position is a High School Diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
• Has proficient understanding of shipping/receiving principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• First level of supervision responsible for a team performing warehouse functions or projects. Leads, assigns and monitors work for a team.
• Complies with safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret general business procedures and instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations at all levels.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals to calculate figures and amounts.
• Must be able to become certified to operator material handling equipment,
• Strong working knowledge of shipping and receiving concepts, practices, procedures.
• Strong computer skills including Office Software packages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
