SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
In the Wash Bay, you will be using a high-powered spray wand, washing debris and oils from the steel/metal trailer frames. Assisting painters in positioning trailers in the paint booths and cleaning the wash areas. Responding to both verbal and written instructions. Maintaining productions and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Responsible for identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location within the shop operating a forklift, overhead hoists/cranes, power lift trucks, if trained.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Ability to immediately recognize and report quality issues to your supervisor.
  • Able to obtain all necessary information needed to complete daily assignments at beginning of shift.
  • Perform quality workmanship wherever assigned
  • Tagging and identifying all finished products
  • Communicate with department leaders when items run low in order to restock/reorder parts.
  • Plans efficient schedules for self.
  • Ability of using high-powered spray wand to wash debris an oils off the materials.
  • Assist painters to position trailers and equipment into the paint booths.
  • Hang parts and materials on racks, mask of chains, and wire ends.
  • Respond to verbal and written instructions.
  • Maintain production schedule and standards.
  • Assist in inventory counting to maintain optimum material levels at all times.
  • Learn to apply coatings through conventional and plural spray systems.
  • Learn basic understanding of how to read a mil gauge and mil paint thickness.
  • Tagging and identifying all finished products.
  • Learn to clean paint gun using a gun cleaning kit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
  • Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English, if applicable.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English, if applicable.
  • Ability to use linear and other measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent education pr experience
Experience: None
Hours: 40 hours per week, work overtime as needed
Hazards: Working with sharp Materials, Heavy workloads with high noise levels (up to and over 85 decibels), fumes and exposure to chemicals. PPE is provided as required by OSHA, including hearing, eye, and head as needed.
